Mirrorkicks release Anything and announce UK mini tour
Kicking their live stage vibrance into record format with their indie-rock boots tightly laced on, Mirrorkicks will be releasing their second single, ‘Anything’, on February 1st 2010. The band are currently sending viral shockwaves across the web with their version of Leona Lewis’, ‘Bleeding Love’, and will be heading out on a mini UK tour at the end of January including a headline slot at the Water Rats on 2nd February.
‘Anything’, pushes the band into a vivaciously-effervescent new dimension of pitch and sound exploration. With vocals akin to an unlikely fusion of the grittiness of Sting and the heady falsetto-heights of Perry Farrell, ‘Anything’ is certain to stir emotions and capture your imagination. The track has recently been added to the XFM evening playlist after a number of spot plays and support from John Kennedy. 2010 is set to be Mirrorkicks year.
Born and bred in South London and meeting at secondary school, Mirrorkicks are, Gerard De Waal, Edwin Pereira, and brothers Ingmar & Anil Kamalagharan. Following a period of musical experimentation, which saw Anil performing and recording with Imogen Heap, whilst Edwin, Gerard & Ingmar supported Razorlight at their 2006 Album launch, the guys’ passion for rock couldn’t be ignored and they cemented their relationship with the formation of Mirrorkicks in late 2008.
With their glam/indie/rock image and charged live performances, the band have become an uncontrollable force on the live circuit and are in high demand across the London scene. It is this support and demand which led the band to the recording studio, where they have successfully captured their on-stage magic and unfettered energy into record format.
The single, ‘Anything’, is released on February 1st, 2010 on Fruit Pie Records and their debut album will follow in April 2010.
