Introducing The Ghosts and debut video for ‘Enough Time’
‘Enough Time’ is the first offering from dreamy synth-pop collective The Ghosts, and offers a tantalising glimpse of what is to come from their heartfelt debut album. Wavering between melancholy and romanticism, vocalist Alex Starling’s delicate falsetto musings drag you upwards whilst soaring unsettlingly over nostalgic soundscapes. Seductive melodies, memorable hooks and ethereal vocals combine for a compelling result.
The video is directed by Alex Kyrou and can be seen below
The Ghosts’ formed in December 2010 when singer/songwriter Alex Starling (formerly of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool) and drummer Ian Palmer were introduced by mutual friend The Charlatans’ Jon Brookes. The pair instantly connected and quickly bonded through mutual experiences. Choosing their name to signify the beginning of a new chapter for both of them.
Completed by classically trained Rayna Ferner (keys) who also played strings on the album, Dan Whiffin (guitar) and Alex Sharman (keys) the band began incorporating individual elements that would ultimately create their unique sound, melding a plethora of influences, ranging from 80’s synth-pop and bands such as MGMT & Empire of The Sun to The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys.
Recorded in a prolific two-week stint with producer Tim Bran (La Roux, The Charlatans, Paul McCartney,) The Ghosts will release their debut album ‘The End’ in April 2012.
Tender, unique and mysterious; fate brought The Ghosts together. Classic songs and unshakeable belief will keep them strong.
Enough Time will be released on 22nd January through Pocket Records.
