Payback Season is the ultimate urban thriller starring Adam Deacon (Kidulthood, Adulthood, Shank, Anuvahood), one of the UK’s hottest talents and current nominee of the BAFTA Orange Wednesday’s Rising Star Award 2012; Anna Popplewell (The Adventures of Narnia, Mansfield Park); Nichola Burley (StreetDance 3D, Donkey Punch); and David Ajala (Adulthood, The Dark Knight).

This compelling debut feature from Director Danny Donnelly of Pure Music fame follows the story of Jerome Davies (Deacon), a young man bent on beating the odds and escaping the council estate in which he grew up – by making something of his life as a professional footballer.

Jerome is determined to follow his dreams. But close encounters with old friends on the estate where his mother and younger brother continue to live – and the temptation to fall back in to his old ways – threaten to jeopardise the dreams that he’s struggled so hard to achieve. With the wealth and power that accompany Jerome’s new life as a professional footballer – and the conflicting pull of the crew on the estate, each of who seem to want a piece of the action – can he remain determined enough to prevent his new life from sliding inexorably out of control?

With no easy way out, Jerome is forced to make some impossible decisions that will have an irreversible impact on his life and career forever….

“When the payment stops, the football stops…”

The film also stars footballing legend Sir Geoff Hurst MBE in a breakthrough debut film role – scorer of the legendary hat trick of goals against Germany in the 1966 World Cup. Other talent includes Leo Gregory (Green Street, Cass, Stoned), and Nina Young (Harry Potter, Clash of the Titans, Tomorrow Never Dies).
