ATD is a mixtape maestro and this new one sounds particularly exciting judging by Lemmings and from the man’s mouth, “It’s all new material produced by me, Akira The Don, and features guest appearances from grime superstar Big Narstie, whose 100 Bars Of Pain got over 100,000 in 3 days this week, Manchester’s Envy, Bay Area wunderkind Issue, Noam Chomsky’s favorite rapper, Collorado’s Time, Youtube sensation CBoyardee, and celebrated spoken word star Polar Bear, who recently completed a deliriously received residency at the Camden Roundhouse. The record takes advantage of the mixtape format by liberally sampling the Lemmings computer game, the Prometheus trailer, Adam And The Ants, Strangelove, Mercury rev, and a recent Fox News meltdown amongst other amazing things. Lead track LEMMINGS samples – natch – LEMMINGS! Akira explains, “It concerns government hysteria whipping, media woman hating and trolling and Fony 2012. It is very catchy and the kids love it.”
