Killer New Video from The Ghosts

11 February 2013 No Comment

One of our favourite acts from last year The Ghosts are back with a triumphant new single and video ahead of their forthcoming trip to SXSW in a few months while they spend from now until then putting the finishing touches to their second (can’t wait) album. Check out the new video for ‘Everything Will Do’ out March 4th and featuring expert drum work from none other than Jon Brookes of The Charlatans here:

The Ghosts
‘Everything Will Do’
Out 4th March 2013
Label: Pocket Records

‘This is superb, accessible, melodic pop’ – The Guardian

‘Showing their unnerving ability to write deliciously macabre and compelling synth pop hits…’ – NME

‘We predict big things for 2012’ – Mixmag

‘This band are building on the established electro-pop trend and making it interesting again. Top stuff.’ – The Sun

‘Everything Will Do’ is the latest single to be taken from The Ghosts’ critically acclaimed debut album ‘The End’. The single is a dark mix of dramatic strings, big guitars and synths and is to be released on March 4th. It features the Jon Bonham-esq drums of Jon Brookes from The Charlatans. The song has also been chosen to feature on the new ABC Network drama ‘Red Widow’ from the pen of Melissa Rosenberg screen writer of the Twilight franchise and Dexter.

The release comes with acoustic re-recordings of their previous singles in collaboration with the folk band Ranagri featuring harps strings and flutes.

The video was directed by Tim Burton collaborator Alex Kyrou who has also directed stunning videos for the previous singles ‘Enough Time’ ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Underrated’

‘The Ghosts’ formed when Alex Starling (Ou Est Le Swimming Pool) met New York trained jazz drummer Ian Palmer, and Canadian Keys/Violin player Rayna Ferner (Alan Pownall). The band are completed by Dan Whiffin and Alex Sharman. They are currently living and writing in a former music school where Elgar once taught.

March sees The Ghosts heading out to SXSW to play new material which will be part of their forthcoming album set to be released later in 2013.
