West London’s cult alt-indie four piece Tellison release their new single ‘Edith’ on 10th October through Naim Edge Records, the second from this summer’s much loved new, Peter Miles (The King Blues, Frank Turner, We Are The Ocean) produced album ‘The Wages Of Fear’.
‘Edith’ is the quintessence of Tellison’s charming capability to candidly express contemporary anguish through classic inspirations. Front man and guitarist Stephen Davidson explains the meaning behind the new single; “Edith Wharton writes a mean story. Her writing, though not particularly fashionable today, earned her a Pulitzer prize in 1921 and the deep devotion of countless readers the world over. In other words she knows where it’s at. The Pulitzer was awarded to her novel “The Age Of Innocence”. I read that book in a small attic room in Cambridge in 2008 and immediately afterwards wrote a song. The song’s title namechecks Edith herself whilst its lyrics reference a few of her literary inventions. There’s also some stuff about real life not being as compelling, powerful, ordered, dramatic or satisfying as fiction (particularly hers) in there too.”

Billy Vincent are set to release their new EP, ‘Once On The Grand Union’ through Something Nothing Records on October 17th – another set of zealous tracks that showcase a seamless progression from the rousing compositions of previous EP, ‘King Island Coyote’.
Fronted by long time compatriots and best friends, Billy Barratt and David Vincent, the band have crafted a collection of songs that are as lyrically stimulating as they are musically.
From the sinister tale of ‘St. Catherine’s Oratory’ and its relentless chant of “looking for the monsters from under my bed”, through to the sprightly feel good message of ‘Through Stations For Trains’, Billy Vincent demonstrate a flair for creating diverse numbers, yet still keeping their own inimitable style and sound.
The latter half of ‘Once On The Grand Union’ sees the band unveil their softer side with a yarn of torturous love with ‘Young Hearts’, a side that stands out against the infectiously jaunty ‘Truly’ and its rousing sing-along chorus.
