It’s twilight in the woods, where nature and the imagination run wild and unbridled. There in the mist prowls the werewolf, the first incarnation in the world of Bearcraft.

Bearcraft’s debut single, The Werewolf, will be released on April 26th 2010 on Hottwerk Records. The Werewolf is the perfect union of Bearcraft’s formative influences – with hypnotic drum patterns, Gallic disco basslines and cool, disembodied vocals, it tells a tale that takes us from animalistic primal urges, through folk devils, to a contemporary scene of dancing in soaring temperatures and midnight sunshine.

Max Raptor sound like…the visceral claws of Great British rock n’ roll frantically disembowelling American alt-rock with a partisan punk attitude. There is nothing remotely Jurassic about this Midland conceived 4 piece whose forthright narrative and devastating live set is spearheading a hungry horde of New Wave British Alt-Rock bands.

Skip ‘Little Axe’ McDonald, the legendary blues guitarist, might not have sold his soul at the crossroads, but he’s looked both ways – down the road of the old blues, up the highway of the future – before proceeding.

An old school bluesman in the tradition of everyone from Howling Wolf and Leadbelly to Blind Willie Johnson, McDonald channels the past into the future through his internationally regarded project, Little Axe. Founded in the early 1990s, with five acclaimed albums to their credit (three for Real World), Little Axe are redefining the blues for the current generation.

‘Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’ is about a young man’s effort to grow up sane in a bonkers world.

Raised in the highlands of Scotland and immigrating to Berlin for inspiration, Jim Kroft, with nowhere to stay on arrival, was given shelter in an abandoned building by the Tacheles Arts Community – a cabal of artists and squatters stationed in the heart of the East Side.

Wake up, wake up, demise!

Flower Of Zeus is not a band. Flower Of Zeus flicks its after dinner cigarette ash on the head of such tawdry notions. Flower Of Zeus is, if you must be so earnest, a collective; a fleur-de-lis for a collaborative society, the emblem of a creative order encompassing lightning bolts, militant anarchy and psychedelic recipes. The liberation of the limited edition gatefold 10” white vinyl EP Diamond Rings, released 12th April 2010 (Digital Release 5th April) on Flower of Zeus imprint Exuberant Youth, bears the first electric and eclectic fruits of this ethos.

“One Sees the Sun” is the debut single from Jim Kroft, an up and coming singer/songwriter based in Berlin. The single is taken from Kroft’s forthcoming album “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” which is about a young man’s effort to grow up sane in a bonkers world.

`One Sees the Sun´ was inspired by a meeting with Colin Wilson, author of the famed 1956 masterpiece The Outsider, who Kroft went to Devon to meet one summer. The strange old sage insisted on the young songwriter staying the night in his library which housed over 40,000 books.

In just a few short years, and over the course of two acclaimed albums, pianist Neil Cowley and his band mates, bassist Richard Sadler and drummer Evan Jenkins, have carved out a reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting bands. Radio Silence, their Naim jazz debut, is their most complete and eloquent statement yet.

Radio Silence is the sound of a band fully comfortable in their unique sonic skin. And if an album is simply a snapshot of a work in progress, then this is a perfect portrait, capturing Cowley and his co-conspirators in the right place at the right time. This is the record that he has been working towards, documenting the magical empathy of a unit, who, with thousands of hours under their belt have learnt to breathe and listen as one.
