Jon Allen to release new album ‘Sweet Defeat’ on May 22nd through Monologue Records

Described in a Sunday Times feature as “One of 2009’s indie success Stories”; nearly two years on Devon’s finest troubadour Jon Allen returns with a brand new album ‘Sweet Defeat’ released on 22nd May by independent label Monologue Records.

Jon Allen will be supporting Seal on his forthcoming Arena tour of the UK and a number of European dates as well over June and July. Jon will also be headling a number of smaller venues as well as performance at Guilfest. Full tour details below

June marks the release of ‘Dead Man’s Suit’ the debut long-player from South Devon’s finest, Jon Allen. Sitting comfortably with contemporaries such as Ryan Adams, Jose Gonzales and Damien Rice, whilst being unmistakeably evocative of the folk-rock scene of the late 60s/ early 70s.
A confident performer – opening for the likes of Mark Knopfler, Emmylou Harris, KT Tunstall, Jose Gonzalez and Damien Rice has not fazed him – wowing audiences in the process in venues from the miniscule 12 Bar all the way up to Wembley Arena.
