So which European nation has the best dancer, stamina and moves…France, England, The Netherlands…
On July 7th, ten European nations battled it out to see which country had the number one dancer at The Last Call event, a 24 hour dance off competition at Matter at the O2 in London.
100 contestants from across Europe competed with their Samsung BEAT Edition DJ music phone, a continuous playlist and a set of headphones to become the last man dancing and the winner of €10,000 prize and a night out with Swedish pop star September. Contestants were eliminated from the competition through receiving phone calls or text to their number throughout the duration of the competition.
So after all the dance moves, the friendly European rivalry and of course those knock out phone calls from girlfriends, mothers, friends, flat mates, bosses and random numbers it was left to a head to head dance off between Greg Zwygart from Switzerland and Gareth Beavis from Great Britain.
After an intense showdown which saw Gareth throw down ‘the worm’ and Greg spin some fantastic free flow breaks, Greg Zwygart from Switzerland was named the winner after Gareth received a knockout phone call – Poor Guy, so close but yet so far.
Highlights from the event, which was streamed live for free can be seen at www.thelastcall.tv. For a quick rundown of the event and reaction from contestants and the winner, including some sublime break dancing moves and his date with September visit The Last Call You Tube Video.
